We are seeking a data-driven, strategic Finance Manager to lead our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function. In this role, you will own the global operational expenses (OpEx) and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across all core SaaS functions. You will act as the strategic finance partner to department heads, ensuring capital is allocated efficiently to drive scalable growth.
You will directly manage, mentor, and scale a team of three Financial Analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and proactive partnership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
Elevate Established Talent: Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team of three established Financial Analysts. Act as a mentor rather than a micro-manager, helping them be strategic business partners for their respective business units.
Strategic Ownership: Collaboratively define and align analysts’ portfolios over core SaaS functions, empowering them with autonomy while providing the safety net and guidance needed to handle complex departmental negotiations.
Career Advocacy & Growth: Actively champion the professional development of your team. Identify stretch opportunities, help them master advanced SaaS metrics and cross-functional storytelling, and clear organizational roadblocks to set them up for promotion.
Collaborative Innovation: Partner with the team to identify bottlenecks in current workflows. Instead of dictating changes, collaborate with them to automate financial models and reporting pipelines—enhancing their day-to-day work-life balance while sharpening the team's collective data efficiency
2. Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis
P&L Ownership: Manage, forecast, and optimize expenses across all major SaaS business units:
COGS: Cloud Hosting (AWS/Azure/GCP optimization), Customer Experience (CX), and Customer Success (CS).
OpEx: Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering (R&D).
Budgeting vs. Actuals: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual budget vs. actuals (BvA) variance analysis, identifying risks and opportunities for efficiency.
SaaS Metrics Tracking: Partner with Revenue and Data teams to monitor and analyze critical SaaS KPIs (e.g., LTV:CAC, Magic Number, Net Revenue Retention (NRR), Rule of 40, and Gross/Net Margins).
3. Strategic Business Partnership
Departmental Collaboration: Serve as the dedicated finance partner to leadership across Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales to build robust headcount and program-spend models.
Go-To-Market (GTM) Efficiency: Evaluate the efficiency of Sales commissions, marketing campaign spend, and CX/CS capacity models to ensure optimal customer acquisition and retention economics.
Qualifications & Skills
Qualified Accountant holding a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
Years of Experience: 5+ years in corporate finance, FP&A, or investment banking. +2 years experience in SaaS is a plus
Leadership: Minimum 1–2 years of experience directly managing or mentoring junior analysts.
SaaS P&L Expertise: Deep understanding of SaaS accounting standards (e.g., distinguishing between CS as COGS vs. Sales & Marketing as OpEx).
Technical Skills
Financial Modelling: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (building complex, dynamic driver-based models from scratch).
Software Stack: Experience with FP&A architecture tools (e.g., Anaplan, Planful, Adaptive Insights) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
Data Analytics: Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau) is highly preferred for digging into cloud infrastructure data.
Soft Skills
Communication: Ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-finance executives.
Candor & Assertiveness: Comfortable challenging assumptions and pushing back on budget requests with data-backed reasoning.
Perks & Benefits
