As a company that continues to grow, we are now seeking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team based in Cork.
Job Overview
Working as an integral member of the maintenance team to deliver a wide range of electrical and mechanical services across the plant in support of the manufacturing activities of the company to ensure that plant machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and in a safe manner, so as to minimise machine downtime.
The Electrician will be required to carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance, including fault diagnosis along with providing technical support and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives that create increased quality and efficiencies.
Main Duties
- Perform planned maintenance work on plant and machinery as per planned maintenance schedule, which prioritises depending on urgency to ensure availability of production lines
- Fault diagnoses and timely repair of electrical and electro-mechanical related issues to plant machinery and equipment
- Identify and carry out preventative maintenance programmes, in order to ensure a high standard of plant maintenance is achieved at all times
- Complete and maintain maintenance activity records, including completion of job cards, completed PM’s and follow on action etc.
- Assist in the continuity of supply for utility services to the site
- Monitor and report status of plant and extrusion machinery as a matter of routine
- Maintain equipment for audit and insurance inspections. Support the process to ensure that all inspections are carried out at set intervals
- Participate in regular meetings with the Engineering Manager, other maintenance and operations personnel to review status of all plant and machinery and to formulate a schedule of work.
- Working on installation of new machinery and equipment ensuring compliance with legislation
- Liaise with spare parts and equipment suppliers as required.
- Be the first point of contact for all electrical support requirements
- Develop and keep up to date all site electrical control schematics
Candidate Requirements
- An experienced time served recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification with an electrical bias.
- Previous electrical maintenance experience gained in a fast paced manufacturing environment; preferably in the plastics, extrusion industry.
- Working knowledge of PLC’s, DC motors, modern control systems with the ability to read drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Sound working knowledge of the mechanical aspects of manufacturing plant and machinery.
- Excellent technical competence and problem-solving skills with the capacity to effectively analyse issues
- Possess strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluent English.

Pay: €52,000.00-€54,000.00 per year

Experience:
