Job Description

The Associate Director - Fund Accounting will lead a team responsible for delivering comprehensive fund accounting services to a diverse portfolio of alternative investment funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role involves significant client interaction, operational oversight, and strategic team leadership.

Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of fund accountants, including performance management, training, and development.
Oversee the preparation and review of NAV calculations, financial statements, and investor reporting for various fund structures (e.g., private equity, real estate, hedge funds).
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, Lux GAAP, US GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing reporting insights, and managing service delivery expectations.
Review and approve complex accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
Develop and implement operational efficiencies and process improvements within the fund accounting department.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., legal, compliance, operations) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Participate in client onboarding and new fund launches, ensuring smooth integration of accounting processes.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and new accounting pronouncements.
Assist in the preparation and review of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in fund accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the alternative investments industry.
In-depth knowledge of various fund structures (private equity, real estate, hedge funds) and their associated accounting treatments.
Strong understanding of relevant accounting standards (IFRS, Lux GAAP, US GAAP) and regulatory frameworks.
Proven experience in managing and developing a team of professionals.
Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Proficiency in fund accounting software (e.g., Geneva) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French or German is a significant advantage.
