About the Role
Linde Material Handling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our service and repair operations. This key position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities within the workshop, ensuring all material handling equipment is serviced, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards while meeting strict deadlines and operational targets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering efficient, high-quality service with minimal downtime for customer trucks.
This role requires close collaboration with all departments across the business, ensuring seamless communication and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity targets are consistently met
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of technicians, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work is completed within agreed timeframes, minimising equipment downtime
- Allocate resources effectively, balancing workloads and prioritising urgent repairs
- Work closely with the service, parts, and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
- Monitor time spent on trucks, driving continuous improvement in efficiency and turnaround times
- Maintain high standards of quality control across all workshop activities
- Ensure full compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, leveraging strong product knowledge
- Identify training and development needs within the team and support continuous learning
- Maintain accurate documentation, job tracking, and reporting systems
- Manage workshop housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Essential Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience in a workshop supervisory or senior technician role, ideally within material handling, automotive, or heavy equipment industries
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate a team under pressure, while maintaining high standards of work
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- A proactive, resourceful mindset with a “can-do” attitude
- Strong commitment to health and safety, with a solid understanding of workplace safety regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve processes and personal knowledge
Desirable Qualities
- Technical qualifications related to mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with workshop management systems or service tracking
- Excellent product knowledge of material handling equipment or similar machinery
