Overview of Role
We are seeking an experienced Onsite ICT Support Engineer to provide technical support and infrastructure services in a busy business environment. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality end-user support, maintain ICT systems and infrastructure, and help ensure the reliable operation of business-critical technology services. This role requires an initiative-taking, customer-focused engineer who can work independently while collaborating with internal ICT teams, third-party suppliers, and business stakeholders.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide Level 2 technical support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operating system issues.
Support Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests.
Deliver both desk-side and remote support services.
Support and maintain Windows-based server environments.
Assist with Active Directory administration and user management.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
Support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN services.
Manage incidents and service requests through the service desk platform.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset records.
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and improvement initiatives.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop environments.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
Experience supporting networked environments.
Familiarity with VMware or Hyper-V.
Experience using IT service management and ticketing systems.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an ICT support or infrastructure support role.
Experience providing desk-side and remote support in a customer-facing environment.
Experience working with business-critical systems and end-user technologies.
Experience supporting infrastructure services and resolving technical incidents efficiently.
Education & Certifications:
Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related discipline.
Microsoft certifications desirable.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications desirable.
Visa:
Irish/EU Citizen or Stamp 4 Visa holder.
