Position Summary:
Bentley Systems invites talented individuals to join our high-performance team of Industry Sales Engineers. Industry Sales Engineers are responsible for generating new business into Strategic Bentley Users. Industry Sales engineers are instrumental in helping identify, qualify and win sales opportunities for Bentley Systems by leveraging their technical knowledge to explain complex products or services in a clear and compelling manner.
This is a sales revenue-generating role supporting new and existing accounts with Bentley software products, services, training, and cloud offerings that help our users achieve their desired business outcomes. You will help grow Bentley’s market share within your assigned sales region. Successful Industry Sales Engineers will thrive in a fast-paced environment, are self-motivated, and will ideally have sales experience and Industry background.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for rapidly growing revenue into Bentley Systems’ strategic assigned Users within a specific sales region.

Responsible for achieving defined sales and revenue targets.

Design and deliver Account Based Sales Campaigns and Outcome based Live Sessions.

Collaborate with marketing and solution engineering teams to create user specific sales initiative.
-
Create effective business plans to develop new business opportunities to increase Bentley solution adoption within the identified strategic users.

Expertly use LinkedIn and other social media channels as an instrument of User engagement and pipeline generation activities.

Supporting recruiting for Bentley events, seminars, conferences, and Channel partner events as required.

Develop relationships and conduct business meetings at various levels including C-Level, VPs, Directors with target accounts.

Develop and maintain with accuracy sales pipeline and provide management with reliable forecast. Document all different stages of the Bentley sales process in Salesforce.

Promote our value proposition to designers, engineers, architects, contractors, and owners by providing workflow-based webinars and meetings showcasing solutions that can help customers meet and exceed business objectives.

Carry out analyses for specific industries and market segments and identify new business potential.

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all commercial and product offerings to accurately identify user needs and challenges, and effectively recommend the most suitable solution for each user.

Negotiate sales and/or service agreements.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Minimum 5 years of practical experience in water engineering, including water supply systems, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, or hydraulic infrastructure.
-
At least 4 years of experience in technical sales, consulting, solution engineering, or professional services, preferably serving water utilities, flood risk management organizations, or public infrastructure clients across the EMEA region.

Strong expertise in hydraulic and water network modeling, with proficiency in industry-standard tools such as OpenFlows, Water-/SewerGEMS, or comparable software platforms.

Comprehensive understanding of the water infrastructure project lifecycle, including feasibility assessments, conceptual and detailed design, regulatory approvals, construction support, commissioning, and operational optimization.

Solid knowledge of regional and international standards, regulations, and best practices, including ISO, EN, UKWIR, WRc, and the EU Water Framework Directive.

Strong awareness of sustainable water management principles, climate resilience strategies, and circular water economy initiatives relevant to EMEA markets.

Deep understanding of the technical, operational, and regulatory challenges faced by water utilities and engineering organizations in delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable water services across diverse geographies.

Familiarity with emerging digital transformation trends in the water sector, including smart water networks, digital twins, advanced analytics, and integrated asset management solutions.

Current knowledge of major software vendors and competitive solutions within the water engineering and infrastructure technology landscape, enabling effective competitive positioning and coexistence strategies.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to translate industry challenges, trends, and customer requirements into compelling value propositions for software and technology solutions.

Strong understanding of product positioning, differentiation, key benefits, and market messaging.

Comfortable delivering software demonstrations, presentations, webinars, and pre-recorded product showcases as required.

Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and drive activities to successful completion.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities, combined with a proactive and results-oriented approach.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently while thriving in collaborative, multidisciplinary, and multinational environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional language is considered an advantage.

Ability to work in a goal-oriented, customer-focused environment while maintaining a high degree of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.

Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and achieving revenue, project acquisition, or sales growth targets is preferred.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across sales, marketing, product management, engineering, and customer success teams is preferred.
