Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Solar PV Electrician to join our growing team. This role involves the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of solar PV and battery storage systems. You will work across both domestic and commercial projects, ensuring all installations are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities - Installation & Commissioning:
* Install and wire solar PV systems (AC & DC)
* Install hybrid inverters, battery storage systems, and backup/changeover systems
* Carry out DC string testing, insulation resistance testing, and polarity checks
* Configure and commission monitoring systems
* Perform full system commissioning and performance verification.
Electrical Compliance - Complete certification in line with Safe Electric requirements:
* Ensure compliance with:
* ET101 wiring regulations
* SEAI Code of Practice
* ESB Networks (NC6/NC7) requirements
* Install and verify correct protection systems (RCBOs, isolators, surge protection).
Site Coordination:
* Work alongside installation teams and subcontractors
* Interpret system designs and production analysis
* Assist with troubleshooting and fault finding
* Maintain high safety standards on all sites.
Documentation & Handover:
* Complete commissioning documentation (DoW, ITC, test records)
* Support SEAI grant documentation where required
* Assist in client handover and system explanation.
Requirements - Essential:
* Qualified Electrician (Ireland)
* Registered or eligible for Safe Electric (RECI)
* Solar PV installation experience
* Certification in Solar PV installation
* DC testing and commissioning certification
* Strong understanding of AC/DC systems and electrical testing
* Full clean driving license.
Desirable:
* Experience with hybrid inverter and battery systems
* Experience on commercial solar installations
* Knowledge of ESB NC6/NC7 processes
* Safe Pass & Manual Handling
* Working at heights training.
