The Team
You will join a mature Enterprise Security function that designs, implements and supports IT and OT security solutions across diverse technical platforms, data networks and security domains. Our work directly underpins EirGrid’s corporate, market and power-system operations. We work collaboratively, prioritise continuous professional development, and partner closely with engineering, operations, IT and third-party suppliers to deliver resilient, business-focused security outcomes.
The Opportunity
As the Cyber Engagement Lead, you will own and drive a strategic, measurable cyber-culture and awareness programme that embeds secure behaviours across EirGrid. You will set direction for role-based learning, communications and engagement, oversee phishing and behavioural-change campaigns at scale, and define KPIs to measure programme impact. Acting as the senior liaison between Enterprise Security and business stakeholders, including executive leadership, regulators and external partners, you will translate technical risk into business-centric advice and secure buy-in for protective controls. Reporting to the Cyber Strategy and Governance Manager, you will champion security and resilience as core organisational values and scale the engagement function to meet evolving enterprise needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously evolve the organisation-wide cyber culture and awareness strategy and delivery roadmap and budget.
- Set direction for role-based induction, ongoing and specialist security learning; ensure quality and business alignment of all training.
- Lead phishing and behavioural change programmes; oversee analysis, remediation prioritisation and assurance.
- Define strategic KPIs, commission executive dashboards and deliver succinct board and c-suite level reporting.
- Act as senior liaison and trusted advisor to business, OT/ICS, IT, HR, Legal, Procurement, regulators and industry partners; influence risk decisions and drive adoption of controls.
- Translate technical risk into business impact and recommended actions for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing engagement team and coordinate a network of security champions.
- Support incident readiness communications and playbook inputs, tabletop exercises and real incidents.
- Define vendor strategy and manage suppliers for awareness platforms, learning content and communications, ensuring value and compliance.
- Use feedback and data to drive continuous improvement, governance evidence and demonstrable reduction in organisational-level risk.
About You-
8 years’ relevant experience in security awareness, cyber engagement, communications or cyber risk; proven experience in regulated or critical-infrastructure sectors.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, track record briefing boards and senior leaders and translating complex technical risk into business-focused advice.
- Strong senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with ability to build trusted relationships across business, engineering, OT/ICS, vendor and regulator communities.
- Strategic experience implementing and assuring compliance with cybersecurity and critical infrastructure directives, including supply-chain and people-governance obligations.
- Demonstrable capability to define strategic KPIs, develop executive dashboards and use data to drive programme decisions and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading design and delivery of organisation-wide learning strategies, advanced use of learning management platforms and oversight of phishing/ simulation campaigns.
- Demonstrated leadership with experience building, developing and scaling teams; ready to recruit, mentor and lead a high-performing engagement team as it grows.
