Role Overview:
- Position: Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor
- Reporting to: Head of Repairs and Maintenance
- Responsible for: Directly line manage Tradespeople ensuring continuous delivery of an effective and efficient service offering. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of responsive, maintenance and out of hours work with a strong focus on improving efficiencies and productivity by supporting and developing our workforce.
- Location: National, Hybrid with regular travel
- Contract: Permanent (6 months probationary period)
- Salary: Starting at €50k PA
The Repairs and Maintenance Department:
The post requires excellent planning and organisational skills as well as an excellent knowledge of the end to end repairs process. Your qualification as a construction professional or similar and your continued professional development in the areas of responsive repairs, maintenance management, and planned/cyclical programmes are a requirement for this role.

Repairs and Maintenance Supervisor

Service Delivery:
· Support, educate, develop staff ensuring flows of work are followed correctly and understood ensuring we complete each repair right first time.
· Use measures to monitor performance to support with measuring capacity and capability within your team and the system.
· Review measures to educate others and improve the system on a continual basis.
· Effectively deliver Tool-Box talks on a one-to-one and/or group basis in specific trade related subjects inclusive of Health and Safety matters.
· Positively support the learning by promoting an open, honest and transparent culture which considers the customer at the heart of every decision being made.
· Effectively support and promote Health, Safety and Welfare awareness to ensure safe working and driving conditions at all times whilst taking personal responsibility of your own Health, Safety and Welfare.
· Build and maintain effective working relationship with key external stakeholders to support the delivery of the service.
· Support in ensuring a consistent management approach throughout the Repairs & Maintenance Team and areas.
· Oversee the supervision of available resources, including budgets, materials, and labour, and administer contracts effectively.
· Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the service delivery process.
· Guide and support teams (Internal & external), facilitate collaboration, and drive the successful delivery of a high-quality service.
Training
· Scheduling & arranging in house and external training
Health & Safety
· Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with service delivery.
· In conjunction with Corporate Services, ensure staff have the required PPE to carry out their roles in a safe manner.
Staff
· Recruit and mentor new staff.
· Direct Line Supervision of Tradespeople and responsibilities to include, but not limited to, absence, holiday, performance, development and recruitment of line reports.
· Provide effective supervision, motivation, training and development of the trades teams.
· Supervise individual performance and maintain the morale and motivation of employees.
· Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to in accordance with policy.
· Supervise disciplinary and grievance issues in accordance with the staff handbook
· Monitor and implement quality improvement and control measures.
Stakeholder Management
· Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Communicating service delivery updates and progress to relevant parties.
· Managing stakeholder expectations and addressing any concerns or issues.
· Supporting high levels of customer satisfaction with the repairs and maintenance service provided

Experience / qualifications:
· Previous experience essential in a supervisory role, preferably in construction/housing/property sector.
· A minimum of “two years” work experience as a site foreman/supervisor in maintenance related role within social housing or other related industry.
· Ability to lead and supervise a team with the capability of being able to motivate, effectively delegate and promote a professional working culture.
· Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
· Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
· Experience of workplace/site health & safety.
· Flexible and proactive decision making.
· A practical working knowledge of responsive, maintenance, out of hours and sub-contracting works.
· Experience in overseeing multi-disciplined functions and trades teams.
