This role will be transitioning to the Front End Day shift pattern in Q3 2026. This will consist of 12-hour day shifts every Monday to Wednesday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

Under the direction of the Engineering Technical Supervisor, Engineering Technician 3 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in:

You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment
You will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation
You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
You will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.
You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.

What makes you successful:

You can read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications
You can write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
You can effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers
You have knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems, Resistance welders, Packaging equipment highly desirable.
You have experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime
You have proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment
You demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills
You have knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes
You have technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation

Experience and Education Required:

Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
