This is an opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to high-quality, technically robust projects across healthcare, public sector, renewable energy, and wider building services programmes, with the support of experienced senior engineers and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
The Electrical Project Engineer will support the delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to handover, working under the supervision and mentoring of a Senior/Principal Engineer. The role will contribute to feasibility studies, option appraisals, scheme and detailed design, using calculation spreadsheets, specialist design software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
You will also visit sites during construction to monitor progress and quality of installation works, while working closely with internal colleagues and wider project teams to help deliver successful outcomes for clients.

Your work will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and well-coordinated electrical systems, while contributing to project quality, programme certainty, and strong client satisfaction. You will also play a part in the development of major infrastructure and building projects, helping to shape sustainable long-term delivery.
Core Capabilities
Technical Expertise
Strong technical ability across electrical engineering services and design, including MV/LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ICT, and life safety systems. Knowledge of Irish electrical design standards and building regulations is essential.
Software & Digital Design Tools
Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and specialist electrical design software such as Amtech and Dialux to support high-quality design delivery and documentation.
Communications & Collaboration
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Project Delivery Support
Ability to contribute to project delivery across all stages, from feasibility and concept design through to construction support and handover, while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Site & Construction Awareness
Practical understanding of construction-stage activities, with the confidence to attend sites, monitor progress, and support the quality of installation works.
Qualifications & Experience
Expected
- Minimum Level 8 qualification in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent such as Energy or Building Services.

Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical building services design.
Beneficial
- Progress toward chartership is strongly preferred.

Equivalent work experience will be considered where appropriate.
Working Environment
This role is based in Dublin, Cork, Galway, or Kilkenny. It operates on a hybrid basis, typically requiring 2–3 days per week in the office, with remote working available where appropriate to project and team needs. Occasional travel to client sites or other offices may be required. Flexible working arrangements are supported where possible, including bank holidays and Fridays, with a focus on sustainable delivery and professional wellbeing.
