Job Description:
Facilities Technician (FT)
1. Purpose of the Job – state concisely the aim of the job.
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance and calibration of Facilities equipment. Working closely with the Facilities team, the Facilities technicians will form part of the overall site goal of maximizing asset performance.
2. Dimensions – Point out the main figures / indicators to give some insight on the “volumes” managed by the position and/or the activity of the Department.

4. Context and main issues
Ø Delivery of a consistent level of service, within the Company's standards, to the contract specification and agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
Ø Compliance to company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
Ø Dealing effectively and safely with all service requests and incidents within the range of competence, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.
Ø Ensure the standards across the site(s) are in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and KPI’s specified in the service contract.
5. Main assignments – Indicate the main activities / duties to be conducted in the job.
EHS
Ø Responsible and accountable for the safe accomplishment of all activities within the Facilities team, whilst following all statutory, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and team practices and procedures.
Ø Reporting any EHS incidents and/or near misses.
Ø Ensuring that housekeeping standards in the entire facility are maintained to a very high standard. Electrical / Mechanical Isolation of equipment to ensure equipment is safe to work on.
Facilities
Ø Ensuring that housekeeping standards in the entire facility are maintained to a very high standard.
Ø Electrical/Mechanical Isolation of equipment to ensure equipment is safe to work on. Appropriate use of Lock Out / Tag Out. (LOTO)
Ø As a team member, ensure the team is accountable for its performance, highlight achievements and gives feedback to team members who are not meeting the required standard.
Ø Track, address, and report issues.
Ø Take ownership of 6s, error proofing etc projects – initiate, complete and doc – team will take on improvement projects as routine work.
Ø Be points of contact as delegated by the facilitator:

Technical Support

Ø Providing on-site Facilities maintenance cover as required.
Ø Providing on-call cover as required.
Ø Carrying out all routine and non-routine tasks delegated by Facilities Supervisor/Facilities Hard Services Lead and Facilities management (Team Leads, Planner, Engineers, Manager) according to appropriate procedures and standards.
Ø Repairing equipment malfunctions (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, civil).
Ø Executing site preventive maintenance routines.
Ø Assisting in construction, commissioning, and qualification of equipment.
Ø Developing maintenance procedures and equipment files. Assisting with generation, review and revision of Facilities maintenance documentation as necessary
Ø Selecting of appropriate spare parts to ensure maximum availability of equipment.
Ø Operating all Facilities owned utilities and facilities equipment safely and efficiently, whilst maximizing uptime.
Ø Collecting and analysing equipment data to report on equipment performance.
Ø Assisting with rolling shutdown preparation and execution. .
Ø Managing Facilities maintenance contracts and working with/supporting contractors.
Ø Training other staff in team procedures and techniques, as required.
Ø Assisting in Facilities stores operations, as required.
Ø Assisting in other team operations, as required.
Ø Ensure all work activity is carried out under Janssen PTW system and risk assessment method statements are review prior to carrying out work tasks.
Ø Ensure all PM’s activities are carried out as per SAP PM schedule.
Ø Liaise with facilities engineering team, equipment vendors and service providers to ensure maximum uptime of plant equipment.
Ø Ensure equipment is following all regulatory, statutory and client corporate requirements.
Planning & Control
Ø Planning and scheduling work as required.
Ø Executing the Facilities maintenance plan.
Ø Attending morning meetings to complete daily work order review.
Compliance:
Ø Operating all site Facilities related utilities to required cGMP standards (USP, EU, etc.).
Ø Maintaining all equipment to cGMP standards.
Ø Maintaining timely, consistent, and precise records of all maintenance work done on the CMMS – SAP.
Ø Completing all documentation in compliance with site procedures and GDP.
Ø Reporting non-conformances and deviations promptly to the management to ensure compliance with EHS and GMP requirements.
Ø Ensuring that personal training requirements are completed in compliance with site procedures. Continuous Improvement
Ø Supporting investigation and resolution of problems.
Ø Familiarization with and adoption of ME2 and Facilities maintenance best practices always.
Ø Traveling to other J&J sites for training/meetings/projects as required.
Ø Undertaking training to keep skills up to date.
6. Accountabilities
Execution of non-technical works to include but not exclusive to:
Ø Logging all jobs on the facilities management database, raising work permits and managing building maintenance contractors
Ø First fix any items on site that is within your ability or remit as agreed with the client.
Ø Dealing with the client, i.e. attending meetings, answering phone requests, reverting with updates on job progress and managing client relationship?)
Ø Issue work permit to external service provider under the guidance of Facilities
Ø Other ad hoc duties
