A Day in the Life of our Software Cloud Engineering Team:
As a Software Cloud Engineer I within PCS organization, you will be involved in developing the software ecosystem supporting Medtronic implantable cardiac devices and will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process.
Medtronic PCS teams develop the next generation medical technologies that save lives, improve quality of living for millions of patients across the world. The team works with various software technologies in application software, network software, mobile software, BT/BLE communication software, and interfacing with embedded software for management and control of implantable medical devices.
The team is seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and highly skilled software development engineer to lead the charge in building the next generation of CRM solutions. This role demands innovative thinking, a strong background in cloud-based software development, and a passion for creating robust, scalable systems that drive exceptional user experiences.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and development of cutting-edge PCS software, collaborating with cross-functional global teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute to implement, test, deploy, and support defined software capabilities with close supervision.
- Support software delivery, infrastructure, data, security, and engineering initiatives.
- Contribute to project milestones, cross-functional assignments, and initiatives that improve the experience of clinicians and patients.
- Assists in troubleshooting technical issues and identifying root causes.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, security specialists, data professionals, and infrastructure teams to meet project objectives.
- Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase team velocity.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others make minor changes.
- Works will close supervision to contribute to projects or work team.
Learn and apply engineering practices related to software development, automation, cloud computing, security, reliability, and operational excellence.

Key Skills & Experience
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.).
- Broad theoretical job knowledge typically gained through advanced education.
- Exposure to programming, scripting, automation, cloud technologies, or data systems through education, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset. Ability to collaborate within a technical team and seek guidance when appropriate.
- Excitement, passion and curiosity about our mission of connecting the world’s health data and improving patient outcomes.

- Building and deploying software.
