Full job description

We are currently seeking a Rapid Responder for Cork. With an annual salary of €33,000 plus mileage of €150 per working week, this is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to thrive in this very important role.

Make a real difference every day by helping people to live safely and independently at home.

In this role, you will effectively deal with emergency on-call issues, for example:

Covering calls directly when a carer is sick or absent
Covering calls for urgent hospital discharges home
Carrying out all instructions relating to the direct care of clients as per their care plan

Responsibilities include providing help with:

Personal care, including showering and toileting
Preparing meals
Light household duties

Compassion, good communication and organisational skills, together with a calm and caring manner, are vital for this important role in our company.

Working hours

This Rapid Responder role is full-time, and you must be available between 8am and 9pm on your working days.

Working pattern:

Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week Two: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

You will work a 4-day working week, helping you to keep that work/life balance.

We are looking for Rapid Responders who:

Have started/completed QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent
Have a driver’s licence and own transport
Are reliable, dedicated, diligent, and trustworthy
Are fluent in English, both verbally and written

What you need to do

Deliver high quality care and assistance to our clients as per their Care Plan – personal care, toileting, meal preparation, moving & transferring, supervise medication
Observe, listen, and engage with clients
Be punctual and manage time effectively
Communicate with Kare Plan about any changes or concerns in relation to client needs/care
Adhere to Health & Safety regulations

We provide a wide range of training for our carers from Stoma and Catheter care, Dementia and Alzheimer’s care and infection prevention and control. With this training we ensure that all of our carers are fully confident and comfortable providing the best care possible to all of our clients.
