The Engineering & Major Projects (EMP) Programme Control Office (PCO) Team work together to develop and own an energisation led end to end Programme of work to be undertaken by EMP.
Combining work programme information from across ESB business areas the PCO provide one single energisation led view of the EMP work programme giving transparency and business unit accountability. The PCO also provides a risk assessed forward view of the EMP delivery programme.
This Programme Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that EMP Programme Control Office (PCO) work programme requirements are scheduled, resourced and aligned to business requirements. This requires coordination of key stakeholders to ensure operation of the work management system is efficiently planned, tracked and controlled.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows
Programme Coordination & Scheduling
Define project programmes with EMP, Networks, and G&T teams, including pipeline and planning. Coordinate programme schedules and programme management requirements to support delivery across EMP, Networks, and G&T. Manage prioritisation and timing of programme activities, ensuring timely transfer of information and reporting.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Manage and coordinate stakeholders within ESB Networks and EMP to achieve PCO objectives. Develop and foster strong relationships to ensure trust and successful programme delivery. Provide technical guidance to stakeholders on all aspects of programme planning and scheduling.
Digital Tools & Innovation
Embrace innovation and leverage digital and technology solutions to enhance programme delivery.
Project Server & Data Management
Coordinate updates to Project Server (schedule uploads, user access, metadata, resource database, custom views). Maintain and update SharePoint Libraries and source files feeding the work programme model.
Schedule Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Provide PCO assurance of programme schedules at each development stage.Review schedules for continuous improvement, report issues, and coordinate updates.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
Ensure accuracy in reporting dashboards, undertake trend analysis, and produce management reports. Assist in creating new dashboards to read data from Project Server.
Quality & Performance Monitoring
Monitor and validate programme data, ensuring accuracy and alignment with PCO objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
A strong project management capability. Demonstrated competency in project management methodologies and systems, in project scheduling and reporting.
A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery to ESB’s safety, time, quality, and cost objectives. A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of SAP based management systems including maintenance and updating of system data.
Experience in developing and implementing business processes and procedures. Experience in data analysis and report preparation.
Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate effectively with a large group of colleagues on a range of work tasks, and a proven ability in management of stakeholders.
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, with a flexible approach to work and strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Experienced user of scheduling software e.g. MS Project or equivalent
Familiar with Power Bi Data Analytics tools

Location
This role is based in Dublin or Cork Offices but travel to project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role
The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

€59,000 - € 70,000 per annum
