Windows + Devices (W+D) is hiring Software Engineers in Dublin across two teams that share a commitment to making Windows a trusted, intelligent, and reliable platform for customers, enterprises, and partners worldwide.
The Modern AI Trust platform engineering team is transforming what trust means to Microsoft and our customers. The team builds innovative, AI-driven solutions that enable product agility, enterprise-scale automation, intelligent decision systems, trustworthy development, and responsible AI use. As a frontier organization developing solutions for the next generation of Windows, the team is focused on retaining and strengthening the trust of our customers and partners.
The Windows Silicon & Systems Integration (WSSI) Compat team plays a critical role in the development and delivery of Windows across a broad range of devices and silicon, from Arm-based laptops to gaming consoles. The team maintains the health of the Windows application ecosystem, ensuring that every Windows release remains compatible with the broad range of applications customers depend on. Its work spans in-market and new hardware across multiple form factors, silicon vendors, and customer segments, while supporting the continued evolution of Windows for new devices and AI capabilities.
As a Software Engineer in W+D, your work will contribute to Windows experiences used by more than one billion people and influence engineering teams around the world. Depending on your team placement, you may build AI-powered platforms and automation that strengthen trust across the Windows development lifecycle, or deliver solutions that detect and prevent critical application compatibility issues before they reach customers. Across both teams, you will tackle complex engineering problems, use AI and large-scale data to generate insights, guide engineering decisions, and continuously improve the quality and reliability of Windows.

Responsibilities
We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer II to join the Windows and Devices organization. In this role, the ideal candidate will design, implement, ship engineering and data products that transform how Windows is built and shipped. The ideal candidate will forge partnerships and collaborate with others across the engineering and product/program management disciplines within W+D. Finally, as a member of the team, the candidate will have the opportunity to drive scenarios and influence technical direction across teams, mentor less experienced engineers, and contribute to building and maintaining a culture and environment that engenders continuous learning and open collaboration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND professional technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant industry software design and development experience working with a major programming/scripting language (C++, C#, Java, Python).
Demonstrated history of promoting engineering excellence within a team; design for reliability, testing, measurement, and understanding of the complete software lifecycle.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Ireland is € 63,400.00 - € 105,700.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
