About the Hermitage Clinic

The Hermitage Clinic is a 112 bed private hospital in Lucan, West Dublin. Our specialised medical teams provide medical, surgical and advanced radiotherapy care to patients and are supported by the very latest medical technology. The Hermitage Clinic is committed to providing excellence in patient care using state-of-the-art facilities. The Clinic offers an outstanding level of expertise and cutting edge technology. We have the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment available today, full Cardiological facilities including a Cardiac Catheterisation Suite and Clinical Laboratory services.

About the role

As a key member of the frontline team, the Health Care Assistant assists in the delivery of individualized patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. The role assists in the smooth running of the department and the provision of quality patient care.

The main duties for this role are:

Receive patients to the clinical area with courtesy
Orient new patients to the clinical area and hospital environment
Check that each patient bay has all the appropriate and required equipment stored correctly
Support patients with hygiene, nutrition, mobilisation needs as required and directed.
Keep clinical areas and waiting areas clean and tidy.

About you

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

Leaving Certificate or equivalent
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Ireland
You are in the 2nd year of your BCSN
Communication & Interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure
Flexible approach to work
Patient Centred
Teamwork

For Healthcare Assistants's who are not contracted to work full time hours i.e. 39 hours or for those HCAs engaged casually, the part time hourly rates outlined above apply. Once hours worked reach 39 hours in a week, the bank rates paid will be as per the full time rates above.
