In this role, you will set the direction for day-to-day quality within your feature team, leveraging advanced AI tooling to automate test creation, validate complex cloud workflows, and ensure the resilience of the digital backbone powering critical global infrastructure.
Key Exciting Responsibilities:
AI-Augmented Quality Engineering: Leverage coding assistants and AI agents (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate test automation generation, synthesize test data, and automate regression suites
Test Automation & Execution: Create and maintain new test automation scripts within established test frameworks for cloud platform features
Test Strategy & Execution: Apply intermediate Closed Box techniques (decision tables, state-transition, pairwise) and basic Open Box analysis (code reviews, statement and branch coverage) to detect defects early
Quality Direction & Leadership: Set direction and manage day-to-day testing activities for the feature team, providing informal guidance and support to team members
CI/CD Quality Gates: Integrate automated tests and quality checks into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to drive continuous feedback and eliminate release bottlenecks
Discovery & Agile Collaboration: Participate in discovery sessions with Product Managers and Developers using BDD/TDD techniques to establish clear acceptance criteria and test coverage upfront
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience & Education: At least 2 years of professional software quality engineering experience and a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Test Automation: Proven hands-on capability creating automated tests using modern frameworks and languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
Testing Techniques: Solid understanding of intermediate Closed Box testing methodologies (state-transition, decision tables, domain analysis) and basic Open Box code review awareness
BDD/TDD Proficiency: Intermediate experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) techniques and tools
AI Tooling Enthusiasm: Demonstrated experience or a strong desire to master AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to boost test automation velocity
Data & API Validation: Technical proficiency with SQL Server/relational databases for data verification, along with experience testing REST APIs (e.g., Postman)
Bonus Points For:
Existing experience with AI Agentic Test Development
Exposure to Cloud Computing (Azure/AWS) and infrastructure concepts
Exposure to non-functional property testing areas (e.g., Performance or Security testing)
Background validating software solutions for the Construction sector
Logistics:
Location: Cork, Remote. Our team is currently remote, but we are growing locally to facilitate in-person collaboration.
