Senior Life400 Developer – Integral (DXC ISB)
Role Overview
As a Senior Life400 Developer within DXC Insurance Software & BPS (ISB), you will contribute to the delivery, enhancement, and stability of Integral / Life400 core policy administration platforms for European life and pensions clients.
You will operate as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert , working within managed delivery teams aligned to the Integral Centre of Excellence (CoE) standards, governance, and tooling.
The role is delivery- and outcome-focused, supporting transformation initiatives, regulatory change, and platform modernisation across complex life insurance portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Engineering
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Integral / Life400 functionality across core policy administration, billing, claims, and financial processing
- Deliver high-quality, production-ready code using SMART400, ILE COBOL, CL, DB2/400 , aligned to DXC engineering standards
- Perform impact analysis, technical design, development, and unit testing for change requests, projects, and regulatory initiatives
- Support release, deployment, and post-go‑live stabilisation activities
Platform Expertise & Problem Solving
- Act as a Life400 subject matter expert for functional and technical challenges, including complex production incidents
- Analyse root causes, implement durable fixes, and support data correction activities where required
- Contribute to system robustness, performance optimisation, and reduction of operational risk
Integration & Modernisation
- Support and enhance integrations between Integral/Life400 and surrounding ecosystems (e.g. finance, CRM, digital channels)
- Work within API‑enabled and service‑oriented architectures , including REST/SOAP interfaces where applicable
- Contribute to modernisation initiatives (e.g. migration, consolidation, simplification, automation)
Quality, Governance & Ways of Working
- Adhere to DXC ISB governance, SDLC, and Integral CoE delivery standards
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (designs, specifications, test evidence)
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory readiness (e.g. life insurance and pensions regulations)
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement across delivery, quality, and efficiency
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with delivery leads, architects, analysts, testers, and client stakeholders
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced developers as required
- Contribute to CoE knowledge assets, playbooks, and reusable delivery accelerators
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
- Strong, hands‑on experience with Integral / Life400 in a delivery or support context
- Proven expertise in SMART400 , ILE COBOL , CL , DB2/400 on IBM i
- Experience working on core life insurance policy administration systems
- Solid understanding of batch and online processing, financial flows, and data structures
Domain Experience
- Strong knowledge of life insurance and/or pensions products and processes
- Experience supporting regulatory change , enhancements, or large‑scale system evolution
- Familiarity with European insurance delivery environments (advantage)
Delivery & Professional Skills
- Experience working in structured delivery models (project-based and managed services)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Clear and effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working with distributed / offshore delivery teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with migration or consolidation programmes involving Integral/Life400
- Exposure to API‑based integration or platform modernisation initiatives
- Experience in client-facing roles or regulated insurance environments
