We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Staff Nurse (RNID/RCN/RGN) to join our team in Childrens Respite, Lavanagh House, Curraheen, Cork

Contract types: Permanent

Contract hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week

Salary Scale: Staff Nurse 37,060 54,111 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSIs (Long Service Increments)

Enhanced Nurse 43,206 56,956 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSIs (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33/34/36 days pro rata (depending on experience)

Overview of the Post:
To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in a 3 bed community based house providing respite and holiday breaks for children with disabilities, within a quality framework.
To provide nursing care to meet the assessed needs of children, young people and their families.

The successful candidate will have:
Essential Criteria for Staff nurse:
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
Be registered in the Intellectual Disability/Childrens Nurse/General Nurse Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais (NMBI);

And
Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, (including a high standard of clinical and administrative capacity), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Annual registration
On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)

Candidates should be eligible to work in Ireland

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of working with children with physical disabilities/ intellectual disabilities/ASD/ Behaviours of concern

Enhanced Nurse Essential cirteria:

Have a nursing qualification validated for working in the Republic of Ireland.

Registered as a Nurse/Midwife on the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

AND

Have 1 year 16 weeks relevant nursing work experience after graduating

Postholder required to maintain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland for the duration of employment and evidence of such registration/renewal to be furnished annually to the Employer.

Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

Possess documented competencies including care competencies in relation to service user/owner case load;

Evidence of skill acquisition from on the job learning;

Certified skills training including as a minimum mandatory training - relevant to care required for service user/owner case load;

Evidence of participation in audit and evaluation of care provision including collection of quality care metrics where same are in place.

Possess a full clean manual driving license

Be eligible to work in the State
