- Lead complex employment investigations end to end, including dignity at work, misconduct and other employee relations matters, ensuring adherence to agreed policies, collective agreements and fair procedures.
- Act as an independent hearer in disciplinary and capability hearings, making balanced, evidence based decisions and settling appropriate outcomes, including sanctions and warnings, in line with procedures.
- Maintain and oversee a panel of investigators across the Group, ensuring consistent investigative standards, quality assurance and ongoing capability development.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive and analytical investigation outcome reports, setting out findings, rationale, risks and recommendations for senior collaborators.
- Engage with the Conduct Forum for any investigation outcomes for colleagues in regulated roles.
- Maintain accurate MI and reporting of any disciplinary sanctions imposed.
- Manage highly sensitive and high risk cases, maintaining confidentiality while ensuring consistency, fairness and procedural integrity.
- Partner effectively with HR colleagues, business leaders, Legal and trade union representatives to ensure investigations are conducted in a timely, thorough and respectful manner, in line with Group policies and procedures.
- Identify themes, trends and systemic issues arising from investigations, using insights to inform policy enhancement, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
- Drive improvements in investigation and hearing processes, tools and governance to enhance quality, efficiency and consistency at scale.
- Proven experience managing a diverse and complex investigations delivering fair, consistent and legally robust outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of UK and Republic of Ireland employment law, including practical experience conducting investigations and hearings in line with fair procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and high quality report writing capability.
- Demonstrated sound judgement, discretion, empathy and emotional intelligence when managing sensitive and contentious matters.
- Strong business understanding and commercial acumen, with experience advising and influencing leaders on people risk and decision making.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills!
