The Role.

GMC are currently looking for an experienced Reinstatement Agent to join our team.

The Reinstatement Site Agent is responsible for managing and coordinating reinstatement activities associated with Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) infrastructure works, including excavation reinstatement, permanent road and footpath restoration, and ensuring full compliance with GNI specifications and local authority requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day reinstatement works across multiple GNI project sites, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and to the required standards.

Coordinate reinstatement crews, subcontractors, traffic management teams, and materials suppliers.

Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with GNI specifications, permits, method statements, and local authority conditions.

Enforce HSEQ policies in line with GNI requirements.

Coordinate with local authorities regarding permits, road opening licences (ROL), traffic management plans, and inspections.

Support planning of reinstatement operations, including resource allocation, material ordering, and sequencing of works.

Demonstrate strong commercial awareness by managing costs effectively, identifying opportunities for efficiency, and ensuring value for money in all reinstatement activities.

The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:

Proven experience in reinstatement, utilities, civil engineering on gas infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of road reinstatement, compaction processes, materials standards, and traffic management.

Knowledge of GNI specifications, road opening licensing (MapRoad), and utility reinstatement standards.

Excellent organisational and site coordination skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.

Full, clean driving licence.
