We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Maintenance Operative to join our growing team here at Kilkea Castle.

Kilkea Castle Hotel is a 140-bedroom resort set on 180 acres of landscape, gardens and ancient woodland. Maintenance Operative

Reporting to:

Maintenance Manager

Job Description:

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel’s facilities are maintained to the highest standards, including general repairs, preventative maintenance, and painting where required.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance tasks across the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
Perform regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential problems.
Undertake painting and decorating tasks to maintain the hotel’s aesthetic standards.
Assist with the setup and maintenance of equipment and furniture.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any major issues to management.
Support external contractors when required and ensure work is completed to standard.

Skills/Requirements

Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a hospitality or similar environment.
Trade qualifications or certifications in maintenance-related fields required.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
Skilled in painting and decorating with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
Minimum 12 months’ valid work permit required.
