Post Summary: General Practitioners (GPs) are qualified medical doctors with specialised postgraduate training, accreditation and qualification in the speciality of General Practice and are registered under this specialist area by the Medical Council of Ireland. The successful candidate will be required to deliver General Practice medical and mental health care, including preventative and screen care, to students and staff of the College, as part of a multi-disciplinary team working under the management of the Director of the College Health Service. The team work to meet the existing open access and fixed appointment surgery patterns. GP services include the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with a myriad of medical illnesses varying from acute minor illnesses to complex acute and chronic conditions, frequently with co-morbidities.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

The specific purpose of this position is to fill an Senior Administrative 3 vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from authorised leave. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition.

Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week)

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 3 Salary Scale (€100,839 - €130,217 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
