The Role We are recruiting for a Chef or Cook to join our catering team. Whether you are an experienced Chef looking for a meaningful role, or a skilled Cook ready to develop your career in care catering, we want to hear from you. Your final job title and salary grade will be determined by the experience and qualifications you bring.
What You'll Be Doing
· Preparing and cooking nutritious, varied, and resident-centred meals across all daily services
· Following and maintaining HACCP records, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules
· Catering for residents with modified texture and therapeutic dietary requirements
· Catering for staff or company events.
· Operating kitchen equipment safely and wearing appropriate PPE at all times
· Maintaining high personal hygiene and upholding infection prevention and control standards
· Liaising with care and nursing staff regarding residents' individual dietary needs
· Participating in kitchen cleaning, stock rotation, and deliveries
· Attending mandatory training including HACCP refreshers and manual handling
Chef / Head Chef applicants will also be considered for menu planning, team supervision, stock and cost management, and HIQA audit preparation.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
· Valid HACCP / Food Safety Certificate
· Manual Handling Certificate (or willingness to complete on commencement)
· Practical experience in a professional catering environment
· Understanding of modified-texture diets and allergen management
· Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Desirable:
- QQI Level 5 or higher in Catering / Culinary Arts
- Previous experience in residential care, hospital, or older-person catering
- Supervisory experience (Chef grade)
Working Hours Full-time and part-time options available.
