The Role
As a Solar & Renewable Energy Electrician, you’ll take a role in the installation, testing, commissioning and handover of renewable energy systems. You’ll work with experienced project teams, support junior electricians and apprentices, and help maintain My Power’s high installation standards.
This is a hands‑on role suited to an electrician who already understands solar, batteries and modern electrical standards and wants a long‑term career path, not just the next job.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install, test and commission Solar PV systems in line with SEAI Code of Practice
- Electrical integration of string & hybrid inverters, batteries, diverters, EV chargers and heat pumps
- Electrical upgrades to existing installations, where required
- Carry out testing, inspection and certification to IS 10101 and Safe Electric standards
- Diagnose faults and support commissioning sign‑off
- Complete test sheets, certifications, photographs and job documentation
Customer & Site Engagement
- Deliver professional, clear system handovers to homeowners and site contacts
- Explain system operation, protection, safety and aftercare
- Represent My Power to the highest professional standard on site
Team & Project Support
- Provide feedback to project managers on site conditions, materials and timelines
- Participate in continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives
- Opportunity to progress into Lead Installer / Supervisory roles
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior electricians
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent)
- Safe Electric registered (or eligible to register)
- SEAI Microgeneration training (or willingness to complete – supported)
- QC / Qualified Certifier for testing & verification (highly advantageous)
- Experience with solar PV, batteries and EV chargers
- Comfortable working at heights with a safety‑first mindset
- Full, clean driving licence
- Strong communication and leadership potential
