Gowan Auto is a member of the family-owned holding company, The Gowan Group, and the exclusive importer and distributor of Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Honda, Jeep, Leapmotor, Opel and Peugeot new passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and spare parts in the Republic of Ireland.
Reporting to the Head of Shared Services, we are now seeking to recruit for the role of Head of Parts (Shared Services) to join our team. This is a senior leadership role, accountable for the operational performance and efficiency of Gowan Auto’s parts business, from supplier through to dealer and customer, working in close partnership with the brand aftersales commercial teams.
The role will own the entire parts value chain: procurement and supplier strategy, pricing and margin management, warehouse, logistics, inventory and availability. You will play a key enabling role in the growth of the business. It is a role that combines operational leadership with strong commercial awareness; ensuring parts remain an efficient, dependable platform that underpins growth across the business.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Pricing strategy.
- Supply chain and procurement.
- Warehouse and logistics.
- Fleet and trade parts supply.
Opportunity
This role consolidates pricing, procurement, warehouse, and logistics under a single accountable ‘head of department’ for the first time. This is a deliberate step to bring focus, operational discipline, and ambition to one of the Company’s most important functions. It carries a substantial live project agenda, and it would suit an experienced operator with strong commercial awareness who wants ownership, scale, and the opportunity to shape a significant part of the business.
Core Competencies:
- Supply chain management (min 3-5 years).
- Proven procurement experience.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- 5+ years’ experience in automotive importation & distribution.
- Knowledge of Keyloop (Kerridge) IMS.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to resolve process/system issues.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams to foster strong team spirit.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders.
