Job Description – General Maintenance Operative
Park West is Ireland’s largest Business Park, comprising over 278,700 sq. m. (3 million sq.ft) of office, industrial, retail and leisure space, along with a residential quarter comprising 466 apartments.
We are now inviting applications for the position of General Maintenance Operative. The successful candidate will be required to perform general cleaning and minor maintenance in duties in carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs. Cleaning to adjacent footpaths and grounds and maintain equipment in clean, orderly and functional condition. Provides assistance to staff, visitors and other employees to the property as necessary. Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain or snow. Ability to work at heights using appropriate equipment- ladders, hoist or boom (license required). Waste Control with the use of balers and compactors.
General Duties:
· Receives oral or written orders from Management
· Performs work according to standard procedure and by buildings PPM.
· Cleans, service yard, pathways, roadways, carpark, internal common areas, windows and mirrors.
· Uses, brush/pan, mops and floor equipment, billygoat
· Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs
· Performs touch up and finish painting
· Empties bins internal/external
· Waste control with use of balers and compactors
· Replaces light bulbs
· Records temperatures of water supplied.
· Carries out safety checks on equipment
· Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures
· Opens and closes building according to security procedures
· Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to centre manager
Additional Duties
· Participates in general cleaning, painting and repair work
· Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds
· Carries out checks on a daily basis to building at beginning and end of shifts, and records.
· Will be required to carry out high level cleaning and maintenance.
Qualifications Profile
· The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience in building cleaning and maintenance work. -2 years’ experience
· Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
· Ability to relate to staff and public in a courteous manner
· Ability to lift and carry objects – manual handling training
· Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain or snow.
· Ability to work at heights using appropriate equipment- ladders, hoist or boom (license required)
· Ability to maintain stock lists of maintenance supplies and orders.
