Job Title: General Operative – Print & Lamination Department
Location: Universal Graphics – Six crossroads Business park, Waterford
About the Role
Universal Graphics is looking for a General Operative to join our growing Print Department.
This role will initially focus on the lamination stage of our print production process. The successful person will be responsible for keeping the lamination machines running efficiently, ensuring work flows through the department on time and that every finished piece meets our quality standards. Lamination is a key part of our production process and is used across a wide range of applications, including vehicle wraps, signage, display graphics and other customer projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hands-on, quality-focused and eager to learn. For the right person, there will be progression opportunities into printing, machine operation and potentially design.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage lamination machines within the Print Department
- Ensure materials are laminated to the required quality standard
- Take responsibility for the throughput and flow of work through the lamination process
- Inspect finished work for defects, quality issues or inconsistencies
- Handle printed materials carefully to avoid damage or rework
- Work closely with the print, production and design teams
- Support general print production activities as required
- Keep the work area clean, organised and safe
- Follow production schedules and prioritise work effectively
- Report machine issues, quality concerns or delays promptly
- Learn additional print processes as training develops
