Job Purpose:
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for driving effective Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) and ensuring timely availability of materials to support production targets. The role develops and maintains the Master Production Schedule, manages materials ordering, and ensures accurate inventory records through regular stock takes and analysis. Additionally, the role will be involved in the planning and coordination of New Product Introductions (NPI) and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) offering significant exposure and experience.
Working closely with internal sales, production management, engineering, and external vendors, the role proactively mitigates delivery delays, adjusts to demand changes, monitors raw material price changes, and communicates impacts to relevant stakeholders. The position identifies capacity constraints and planning conflicts, reports risks and variances to the Plant Manager, and continuously compares actual output against plan to improve performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)
o In collaboration with the Internal Sales team consolidate customer forecasts into a single plant demand plan.
o Perform monthly inventory stock takes with the Plant Manager and Production Manager.
o Produce the monthly and weekly production schedule.
· Plan and administer materials ordering to support production requirements.
· Work closely with suppliers to minimize the impact of delivery delays or disruptions.
· Collaborate with internal sales teams to align demand forecasts with production plans ensuring customers are well informed and deliveries planned.
· Partner with production management and engineering to support operational planning such as maintenance, equipment time for product development, validations, etc...
· Monitor raw material price changes and communicate impacts to the Plant Manager, Sales Director and General Manager.
· Identify capacity constraints, resource conflicts, and planning risks for communication to the Plant Manager.
· Report planning variances, risks, and capacity issues to the Plant Manager
· Track actual production output versus plan and highlight opportunities for improvement
· Work with the Prodcution Management team to develop, enhance and maintain Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standard across the site.
· Work with AQF business leadership to coordinate project activities via Microsoft TEAMs planner.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Strong planning, organisational, and time‑management skills essential.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential.
· Experience with production planning, materials management, SIOP or similar supply chain processes advantageous.
· Demonstrable analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
· A “can do” attitude with a desire to learn and grow.
· Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, operations, engineering, and vendors.
· Clear communicator with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of Supply Chain and SIOP processes beneficial but not essential.
