We are expanding into new sectors and regions with our core areas of expertise including engineering design, materials handling, BOP turnkey solutions & modular build.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a EHS Lead, an integral role in our expanding team.
About You
You have a relevant Health and Safety Diploma/Degree or equivalent and 5 years' plus experience in an EH&S role (ideally some of this experience is in construction). You are collaborative and team focused, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You are adaptable and innovative with a continuous improvement mindset you have a willingness to travel to other Buttimer sites when required. Competent from an IT perspective, you are capable of influencing positively at all levels in the organisation.
The Role
This is a Site Based role. You will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support on all matters relating to Environment, Health, Safety and Welfare across the business. You will lead and grow our existing Safety Culture and the development and delivery of our EHS Strategy. You will become a Subject Matter Expert and ensure Buttimer’s safety standards are effectively implemented across the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Promote a culture of Safety First across the organisation
- Oversee the health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring full compliance with legislation & planning, risk assessments, and safe working practices across all sites.
- Work effectively with the Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System.
- Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all Buttimer’s High Risk Activities (HRA’s) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
- Assist with the development and coordination of the Risk Assessment & Method Statement process.
- Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to all site personnel including our sub-contractor team on SOP’s.
- Ensure all subcontractors are prequalified Buttimer protocol and allocated to the project.
- Report and Investigate incidents when they occur as per the Buttimer Incident Management Procedures and Incident Notification Protocol.
- Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talk on a scheduled / weekly basis.
- Ensure statutory inspections are complete and recorded into the Buttimer’s Safety folder on SharePoint.
- Provide EHS project and documentation support.
- Mentor, develop and coach the Health and Safety team if applicable
- Management of ISO standards
- Any other reasonable and relevant duties necessary to meet the ongoing daily needs of the company.
