About the Company
We are seeking an experienced and fully qualified Electrician to join our Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our manufacturing equipment and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production lines, injection moulding machines, extrusion equipment, and ancillary systems.
- Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot machinery and automated systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Complete maintenance documentation and reports accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
- Participate in an on-call rota and shift work when required.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
- National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid Safe Electric Certification or equivalent recognised Irish electrical qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with motor control systems, drives, sensors, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations and standards applicable in Ireland.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Required Certifications
Applicants must hold:
- National Craft Certificate – Electrical
- Safe Pass Card (Current)
- Manual Handling Certificate (Current)
- Safe Electric Registration (or eligibility)
- Electrical Testing & Verification Certification
- Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) Training
- Working at Heights Certification (desirable)
- First Aid Certification (desirable)
Desirable Experience
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, extrusion, or packaging industries.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
