Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious and experienced HGV Driver to join our growing transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of quarry products, aggregates, asphalt and concrete materials to customers across Carlow and the surrounding counties while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV vehicles in accordance with all road traffic legislation and company policies.
- Deliver construction and quarry materials to customer sites safely and on schedule.
- Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure loads are secure and transported safely at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and records.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office, dispatch team and customers.
- Adhere to drivers' hours regulations and tachograph requirements.
- Keep vehicles clean, presentable and roadworthy.
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Represent Dan Morrissey & Co. professionally while on customer sites and public roads.
Essential Requirements
- Full, clean Category C driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Previous HGV driving experience, preferably within the construction, quarry or concrete industry.
- Strong knowledge of drivers' hours and road transport regulations.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and reliability.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
