The Environmental Technician Grade II will work under the direction and control of an officer or engineer designated by the Director of Services or the Chief Executive.
The following list is not meant to be an exhaustive list and is provided only as a guidance note on the types of activities which the successful candidate will be required to undertake.
LABORATORY
- Undertake sampling, laboratory analysis and reporting for a variety of different sample types.
- Preparation of samples for analysis in the Laboratory
- Undertaking general chemical & microbiological analysis
- Ensuring all equipment in the Chemical Laboratories is maintained and in good working order
- Document/information management and use of information technology
- Any other duties that may be assigned by Line Manager from time to time.
Successful applicants may be involved in water/waste investigations or other activities as per Environment, Waste and Water legislation.
