Full-Time Medical Receptionist – Audiology Clinic

Egans Hearing Centre is Ireland’s largest independent, family-run audiology and hearing care provider, operating clinics across Cork and Munster.
Established in Cork in 1960, we have over 60 years of experience providing professional, personalised hearing care. We are now seeking a friendly and organised Medical Receptionist to join our Cork City clinic.
The Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, professional and supportive clinic experience.
This is a full-time, on-site position suited to someone who enjoys working with people, communicates clearly and can confidently manage a busy appointment diary.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner
- Answering telephone calls, emails and general patient enquiries
- Booking, confirming, rescheduling and cancelling appointments
- Managing the clinic diary and arranging appointments efficiently
- Assisting walk-in patients and explaining the services available
- Liaising with audiologists and other team members throughout the working day
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient information
- Completing general administration and data-entry duties
- Processing payments and providing receipts where required
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering clinic consumables
- Keeping the reception and patient waiting areas clean and welcoming
- Supporting the opening and closing of the clinic
- Handling patient information in accordance with GDPR and company procedures
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service
- A warm, patient and empathetic approach
- Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Confidence using email, appointment systems and general computer software
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
- The ability to manage several tasks in a calm and professional manner
- The ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
- Discretion when handling confidential and sensitive patient information
Previous experience in a healthcare, medical or clinic reception role would be an advantage but is not essential, as appropriate training will be provided.
