Bar Square is a busy, family-run bar and restaurant in the heart of Ballina, serving quality food daily in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Food Manager to lead our food operation, ensuring exceptional standards of quality, service, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day food operation, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, motivate, and support the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Manage stock control, ordering, supplier relationships, and food cost margins.
- Assist with menu planning, costing, and introducing seasonal specials.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members while promoting a positive working environment.
- Monitor labour costs and staffing levels to maximise efficiency.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Work closely with senior management to drive sales, improve performance, and deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Food Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience managing stock, budgets, and labour costs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- A hands-on approach with a passion for food and customer service
