We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Site Support Engineer to join our IT team, based in our Cork office. This role will act as the primary on-site IT presence, providing high-quality technical support to end users while working closely with the central IT team in Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of day-to-day IT support, ensuring the reliability of local IT services, and maintaining a secure and efficient user environment. This role combines hands-on support with of the Cork site’s IT operations and user experience.
Reporting Line
- Reports to: IT Manager (Dublin)
- Works closely with: Broader IT team (Dublin)
Key Responsibilities
End User Support
- Provide primary support for all Cork office and wider firm
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and application issues
- Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Deliver high-quality support to senior stakeholders in a professional services environment
- Manage and prioritise support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
Onsite IT Operations
- Act as the primary IT contact for the Cork office
- Configure, deploy and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Support meeting room technology, AV systems, and conferencing tools
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff, including device setup and access provisioning
Infrastructure and Systems Support
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, WiFi, VPN)
- Liaise with the Dublin IT team on escalations and project work
- Assist with the rollout of IT systems, upgrades, and new technologies
- Maintain local IT asset records and documentation
Security and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and procedures
- Support device compliance, patching, and endpoint management processes
- Identify and escalate security concerns or incidents
- Assist with implementation of security controls and awareness initiatives
Documentation and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and support issues
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and internal IT documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve support processes and user experience
Skills and Experience
Essential
- 2-3 years’ experience in IT support within a professional environment
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft 365
- Windows 11 support
- Device setup and user onboarding
- Experience using endpoint management tools
- Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and user issues
- Basic networking knowledge
Desirable
- Experience in a legal or regulated environment
- Exposure to IT security tools or monitoring platforms
- Experience with mobile device management and security policies
