Maryborough Nursing Home is a purpose-built facility near Douglas, Cork. We care for 36 residents in our single-story building, set in mature landscaped gardens. We are currently looking for kind, reliable, flexible, and friendly Activities co-ordinator to join our team.
Job Description
The Activities Co-ordinator will work closely with the nursing, care and multi-disciplinary team to promote each residents’ well-being and quality of life through therapeutic and recreational activities programme.
The Activities coordinator develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents. He/she plans and coordinates events, games, and exercises for residents. In addition, the Activities co-ordinator oversees all activities to ensure residents participate safely.
This position is Part Time- 30 hours a week.
Responsibilities
· Develops, implements, and manages comprehensive activities programs for the residents.
· Ensures that each resident’s needs are assessed and that a plan of activities is developed.
· Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
· Communicates with residents and families regarding participation in and satisfaction with programs.
Demonstrates good computer knowledge and proficiency in using relevant computer systems and software, including electronic documentation, email, Microsoft Office applications, and other systems required for the role.
· Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Experience as Activities coordinator/assistant in a nursing home is preferred
- Highly professional and dependable
- Pleasant/friendly demeanour and an outgoing personality
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work with individuals of varying capabilities
- Be Fluent in English and legally entitled to work in Ireland
- Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
- Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team
