We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Floor Supervisor to support our management team in delivering exceptional guest experiences across all areas of the venue.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys leading by example, working in a fast-paced environment, and supporting a team to deliver outstanding service.
The Role
As Floor Supervisor, you will support the Floor Manager in the day-to-day running of the venue, helping to ensure smooth service, high operational standards, and an exceptional experience for every guest.
You will assist with supervising the front-of-house team, supporting service, and ensuring the venue is well-presented and operating efficiently throughout each shift. This is a floor-based role where you'll spend your time engaging with guests, supporting colleagues, and helping the management team deliver a seamless operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesShift Support
- Support the Floor Manager with the day-to-day running of service.
- Supervise the front-of-house team during shifts.
- Lead by example and provide hands-on support during busy service periods.
- Help ensure opening and closing procedures are completed to a high standard.
- Assist in maintaining smooth communication between front and back of house.
Guest Experience
- Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Welcome and engage with guests to ensure they have a positive experience.
- Handle guest queries and resolve minor issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Help maintain the high service standards Opium is known for.
Team Support
- Support the induction and training of new team members.
- Encourage teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
- Assist the Floor Manager in ensuring service standards are consistently met.
- Provide guidance and support to team members throughout each shift.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure the venue is clean, organised, and well-presented at all times.
- Follow and promote food safety, health & safety, and licensing procedures.
- Carry out routine checks and report any maintenance or operational issues.
- Help maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
About You
We're looking for someone with previous hospitality experience who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment.
- Supervisory or senior team member experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Desirable
- Experience working in a high-volume venue.
- Knowledge of food safety and health & safety procedures.
- Experience supporting private events or functions.
