Job description
JT Pallets & Haulage, based in Glenville, Co. Cork, currently have a vacancy for a General Yard Operative / Forklift Operator to join our team. Immediate start available.
This is a hands-on outdoor role within a busy pallet and haulage yard. The position involves manual pallet sorting, forklift driving, loading/unloading trailers and general yard duties.
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
About the Role
- Sorting and grading timber pallets by hand
- Forklift driving and loading/unloading trailers
- General yard duties and housekeeping
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Pallet stock control and maintaining yard organisation
- Completing paperwork and daily checks as required
- Following all health & safety procedures within the yard
Requirements
- Good work ethic and willingness to work in a physical outdoor role
- Reliable, punctual and capable of working as part of a team
- Comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks daily
- Previous forklift experience beneficial but not essential
- Counterbalance forklift licence advantageous
- Own transport required due to location
- Good communication skills and spoken English required
