The Role
As a Traffic Management General Operative, you will work as part of a team to safely set up, maintain and remove temporary traffic management arrangements on roads and work sites.
Your duties may include:
- Setting up and removing traffic management equipment.
- Stop/Go traffic management.
- Road closures and diversions.
- Lane closures.
- Setting up and maintaining temporary traffic lights.
- Flagman duties at road closure points.
- Pedestrian management.
- Installing and maintaining traffic cones, signs, barriers and other traffic management equipment.
- Assisting with the safe movement of traffic around roadworks and construction sites.
- Ensuring traffic management setups remain safe and compliant throughout the works.
- Carrying out regular checks of traffic management equipment.
- Working closely with Traffic Management Supervisors and the Operations Team.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining a professional approach when dealing with members of the public, clients and other site personnel.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid Safe Pass Card.
- A valid Manual Handling Certificate.
- A valid SLG Card is an advantage.
- A full Irish driving licence is desirable.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends and long hours when required.
- The ability to travel to different sites across Ireland.
- Availability for overnight stays when required, with accommodation provided.
Experience
Previous traffic management experience is preferred but not essential, as training may be provided to suitable candidates.
Experience in roadworks, construction, traffic management or similar outdoor work would be an advantage.
