To provide routine maintenance services to the nursing home under the direction of the Director of Nursing and General Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake all rountine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested.
To check the maintenance log for tasks to be completed.
On a weekly/monthly basis undertake all fire checks in the fire register and follow up on actions.
Periodic checks as needed on all equipment in the home and follow up on actions.
Periodic checks on the water temperature and checks on all sinks, showers and bath in the home.
Boiler and Plant room checks as needed and liase with the plumber and electrician on works that need to be completed.
Monitoring of gutters/downpipes/drains and cleaning as needed. Periodic checks on the waste system and liase with waste collection services.
Ensure that the grounds, car park and courtyard are maintained and are free from litter and are kept clean and tidy.
Touch ups to paint work as needed.
Change light bulbs as needed and liase with the electrician on works that may need to be done.
Assist residents with personalising bedroom, with regard to installing TV, pictures, shelving etc.
Assisting staff with moving furniture as needed.
Keep records of consumables and control of maintenance stock.
Keeping accuarate records of all checks and maintenance.
Liaising with trades and contractors working in the home.
Other duties include accepting and signing for deliveries, local business errands and resident errands as needed.

SKILLS, KNOWLEGDE & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Building Trades/Electrical/Carpentry/Plumbing/Mechanical Services
Must provide Garda Vetting clearance, references and previous employment history
