Job Title: Delivery Van Driver
Location: Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow.
Carlow Brewing Company (O’Hara’s Brewery), is well established as one of Ireland’s leading beverage suppliers to a wide customer base, exporting its own brands globally. As such, our warehouse team operate with a customer-centric mentality.
We are looking for a Delivery Van Driver to join our busy team based at our Brewery in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow, where you will report directly to the Warehouse Manager. This multitasker will be involved in the loading, transporting, and delivery of items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner. Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, and the customer is satisfied. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a great work ethic, the ability to work well independently and as a team, a positive attitude, sharp problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Unloading and loading the cargo using lifting equipment.
- Ensuring equipment are clean and tidy at all times.
- Communicating with colleagues to ensure accuracy of movements, that our facilities are organised and maintained, and that warehouse operations and systems are always upheld.
- Order picking and preparation for dispatch - when needed.
- Checking the inventory and verifying movements - when needed.
- Maintaining and keeping accurate inventory records and paperwork.
- Delivering inventory (e.g., kegs, cases etc) as ordered to/from designated locations.
- Communicating with the customers, handling questions and concerns.
- Handling paperwork associated with the deliveries securing delivery confirmations etc.
- Ensuring any customer questions and concerns are answered or handled promptly.
- Adhering to specified routes and following time schedules.
- Following all transportation laws and having a clean driving record.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Delivery Driver, or a similar role in the warehouse/logistics department.
- Sound knowledge and experience with warehouse inventory management procedures.
- Ability to work in a busy environment.
- Good mathematical and analytics skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability to communicate with clients and colleagues efficiently.
- Full Clean Drivers Licence (C1 licence preferable).
- Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of delivery routes in Dublin region an advantage.
- Strong multitasker.
