We currently carry over 14,000 products across an extensive range of areas including, Irish themed gifts and clothing, Irish jewellery, Aran knitwear clothing and accessories, music and dance, confectionery, plush toys and kitchenware. We also stock a selection of big Irish brands including Guinness licensed product, Newbridge Silverware, and Solvar Jewellery amongst others.

Role overview:
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager with every aspect of the day-to-day running of the Store, including sales, people, stock, and merchandising. Working closely with the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Store Manager with the overall performance and day today running of the store.
Be people first leader ensuring all people procedures, talent management, performance, development and employee relations are managed consistently and in accordance with company guidance and policy.
Behave in line with our Failte Values embedding them across the store teams.
Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring all commercial and operational standards are maintained.
Deliver sales, customer service and operational KPIs, motivating the team to achieve and exceed targets.
Communicate daily targets and priorities clearly and support the team in delivering them.
Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members to maximise individual and store performance.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of the team.
Assist with staff rotas, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet customer demand and trading requirements.
Support effective management of attendance, performance and team conduct in line with company policies.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience and lead by example in all customer interactions.
Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to the Store Manager where appropriate.
Support stock management, including ordering, replenishment, deliveries, stock accuracy, stocktakes and minimising shrinkage.
Maintain excellent visual merchandising, cleanliness and overall store presentation.
Monitor sales and operational performance, using available data to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
Support the Store Manager with budget, payroll and cost control.
Ensure all health & safety, security, cash-handling, audit and compliance procedures are followed.
Support opening and closing procedures and ensure the store is secure and operational.
Support the implementation of company initiatives, promotions and operational changes.
Identify opportunities to improve sales, customer experience, efficiency and team performance.
About You
You will ideally have:

Proven experience managing a retail store or similar high-volume customer-facing operation.

A strong track record of delivering sales, commercial and operational KPIs.

Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a team.

Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with sales and performance data.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Experience managing rotas, payroll, stock and operating costs.

A good understanding of health & safety, compliance, security and loss prevention.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to identify and implement improvements.

Good IT skills and confidence using retail systems and business data.
Practical experience with Microsoft Business Central, Power BI an advantage.
