Key Responsibilities and Duties:
This is a full-time remote role for an ICT Field Service Engineer covering the island of Ireland. The role will focus on Rees Scientific Environmental Monitoring Systems, supported by Accuscience for over 30 years and relied on to monitor critical equipment across the healthcare, pharmaceutical and life science sectors. Rees monitoring systems in Ireland span over 90 clients and comprise approximately 7000 inputs for the continuous monitoring of temperature and other critical parameters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether the application is blood transfusion, clinical pathology, pharmacy or specialist areas such as IVF or the pharmaceutical industry, the Accuscience ICT team provide continuous round-the-clock support.
Responsibilities will include performing on-site installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance. The work involves working closely with clients to deliver technical support, resolve issues efficiently, and ensure optimal equipment performance. The provision of excellent customer service, maintenance of detailed service records, and support of user training will also be key responsibilities.
The successful candidate will join the existing ICT team to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to support and strengthen this area of our business. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular travel to healthcare facilities to fulfil job responsibilities, providing an efficient and reliable service.
Customer-facing support including daily Helpdesk ticket resolution, online and phone support.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and software applications, both on-site and remotely, in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with colleagues, client IT support teams and manufacturer partners to escalate and resolve complex technical challenges.
Communicate with customers to provide updates, address service-related inquiries, and deliver exceptional customer support.
Install, set up, and configure equipment and software applications in various healthcare settings, ensuring proper functionality and compatibility.
Perform temperature calibrations using equipment calibrated to ISO17025 standard.
Complete digital Service Reports for all jobs and validation documentation as required.
Inclusion in out-of-hours on-call rota may be required.
Adherence to all health, safety and quality requirements and procedures.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Relevant technical or electronic engineering certification or degree.
Proficient in Field Service operations, ideally electronic security systems, alarm systems, or similar. Experience in the medical device / healthcare sector desirable.
Proven abilities in the areas of equipment installation, commissioning, technical support and routine preventative maintenance essential.
Experience in the implementation and configuration of software applications preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
Exceptional Customer Service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with customers.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and requirements.
Valid clean driver's license and willingness to travel within the designated territory.
