Main Purpose of the Role
The Outbound Production Supervisor plays a key role in supporting daily operations within the Outbound Production area. The Supervisor ensures that all production activities are complete and on time by coordinating operators, monitoring workflow, and maintaining strong standards and compliance.
Reporting to the Outbound Production Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of their designated area, ensuring that SLA commitments are met, operators are supported, and any operational issues are escalated promptly. The role promotes a positive team environment and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery for Mail Metrics clients.
Role Description
This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activity within the Outbound area, ensuring service levels are met and output is delivered right first time. It includes allocating work based on priorities, monitoring workflow, and maintaining operational continuity, including the availability of materials, consumables, and equipment.
The role provides clear direction, coaching, and support to Production Operators, ensuring adherence to company procedures and standards while maintaining productivity, quality, and a positive team environment. It also supports the training and development of team members, including onboarding and cross-skilling.
Working closely with the Outbound Production Manager, the role provides updates on performance, escalates risks, and contributes to problem-solving and continuous improvement activity. It ensures compliance with Health & Safety and quality requirements and provides operational cover where needed to maintain continuity.
