The Firm
Mason Hayes Curran LLP is a leading Irish law firm based in Dublin with representative offices in San Francisco, New York and London. The firm has been the fastest growing law firm in Ireland over the last decade. We are a business law firm with extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of Irish business-related law and with particular focus on the Energy, Technology, Financial Services, Built Environment, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Charities sectors.
We are currently seeking to recruit a solicitor for our construction litigation team.
The Role
You will work on a variety of disputes for public and private sector clients, in the construction, energy and infrastructure arena.
The team is involved in many of the highest profile construction projects in Ireland, whether public sector, utilities, energy or infrastructure. The team is unusual in that it does much of its written and oral advocacy without counsel. The candidate will be involved in drafting correspondence and submissions, and have unparalleled exposure to arbitration, mediation and conciliation.
You will have responsibility for coordinating the firm’s service to two key clients, both with a broad range of construction related queries and disputes. This role has particular responsibility for conciliation, arbitration and High Court proceedings, but construction adjudication will also feature. There is a unique opportunity for a junior lawyer to progress this co-ordination role to act as a key client contact, and the successful candidate will be fully supported in this development.
A candidate who wishes to gain or maintain some exposure to transactional construction work will be supported to do so, while maintaining a focus on dispute work.
The Team
The construction litigation team is led by one of Ireland’s first solicitor Senior Counsel, together with two other partners and a number of associates. As such, it is Ireland’s biggest dedicated construction litigation practice. The candidate will join a team in a sustained growth phase.
Requirements
- Current Irish legal practicing certificate;
- 1-4 years PQE, with construction or litigation experience preferred, but aptitude and attitude considered more important;
- An interest in the construction and energy sectors;
- Strong focus on client services and the ability to manage multiple files;
- A good knowledge of High Court procedures would be an advantage but not essential.
