General Operative – Timber Manufacturing
We are looking for reliable, motivated and hardworking General Operatives to join our busy timber manufacturing team in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a high-output, efficient production process, while ensuring every timber engineered component meets our required standards for accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating manufacturing tools, equipment and machinery.
- Cutting, handling, and preparing timber and other materials to assemble engineered roof trusses, floor joists and wall panels.
- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining consistently high quality.
- Ensure all components are cut and processed accurately to drawings and specifications.
- Carry out regular quality checks and identify any defects or issues.
- Minimise waste, downtime and production delays.
- Report any technical or maintenance issues.
- Work closely with the wider production team to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all company production, quality and health & safety procedures.
- Carrying out other general duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in manufacturing, timber, construction or a similar environment is an advantage
- Good practical and manual skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and the ability to spot issues before they affect production.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings and production information.
- Good mechanical and technical awareness.
- A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
- Health and safety awareness
What we offer
- Starting rate from €14.15 per hour, negotiable depending on experience.
- Weekly performance bonus of up to 20%.
- Weekdays 8:00am–4:30pm (3:30pm Fri)
