The Role
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join one of our Scrum teams, working alongside the Scrum
Master, Product Owners, Software Engineers, and other Quality Engineers.
You will help the team deliver new features quickly and confidently by contributing to test
planning, manual testing, defect investigation, and test automation using Python and Robot
Framework.
At NS90, our QA Engineers develop a broad testing skill set and contribute to to both manual and
automated testing efforts. Previous automation experience is an advantage, but it is not essential for
the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements and identify test scenarios, risks, and areas that need clarification.
- Create and maintain clear, effective test cases.
- Perform manual testing of web applications, APIs, and new features.
- Build and maintain functional and regression test suites.
- Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman.
- Analyse test results and investigate unexpected behaviour.
- Record testing activities and report, track, and retest defects.
- Contribute to UI and API test automation using Python and Robot Framework.
- Communicate test progress, risks, and quality concerns clearly to the wider team.
- Manage priorities and set expectations when working across multiple tasks.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to the team’s Agile development process.
- Help improve the team’s testing practices, tools, and overall QA strategy.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A good understanding of software testing principles and common testing techniques.
- Some experience in software testing, which may come from employment, an internship,
education, personal projects, or another practical setting.
- An understanding of functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
- Experience testing web applications or REST APIs.
- The ability to write clear test cases and defect reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to manage their own tasks while working as part of a team.
- An interest in learning test automation and developing broader technical QA skills.
- Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python or Robot Framework.
- Experience using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
- An understanding of betting, gambling, trading, or the online gaming industry.
- A qualification in software development, computer science, testing, or a related field.
Equivalent practical experience is also welcome.
