We are looking for an organised and motivated Service Manager to join our busy service team based in Ashbourne.
Previous refrigeration experience is not required. Full training, technical support and ongoing guidance will be provided. We are looking for someone with strong management, organisational and customer service skills who can effectively manage a busy service department.
The Role
The Service Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service department, coordinating our team of field service engineers and ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a team of service engineers.
- Coordinating daily workloads, call-outs and planned works.
- Working closely with the service administration team.
- Monitoring outstanding service calls and ensuring jobs are progressed and completed.
- Managing customer expectations and providing regular updates.
- Prioritising emergency and high-priority breakdowns.
- Liaising with engineers, customers, suppliers and manufacturers.
- Monitoring engineer performance, response times and productivity.
- Reviewing service reports and ensuring the required information is recorded.
- Assisting with quotations, parts requirements and follow-on works.
- Helping to improve service procedures and overall customer experience.
- Supporting the management of the out-of-hours service operation.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience in service management, operations, logistics, facilities management or a similar management role.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing or coordinating field-based staff would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Good computer and administration skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The confidence to make decisions and manage issues in a fast-paced environment.
- A full Irish driving licence.
Refrigeration Experience Is Not Essential
Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to help the successful candidate understand our equipment, customers and service operation.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have strong people-management and operational skills and are keen to develop their knowledge within the refrigeration and catering service industry.
